Women of Quiet Strength - My Everyday Champions
So often we hear about miraculous feats of strength and courage, real or fantasy, but we often don’t take the time to bring attention to those in our lives who do extraordinary things every day. Those who inspire us and help support our wellbeing.
For me, I call them my spiritual guides aka mother(s), aunts, sisters. These women have taken responsibility for their families, (as nurturers, healers, financial contributors, planners, and protectors), they’ve had the courage to take on health battles which have not only threatened their resolve but to take their lives as well.
Some have lost the battle, but others have maintained the fight and have triumphed over the first rounds of the campaign.
I wanted to share this with you, as a reminder of the wonders we witness each day. I’ve been fortunate to have in my life women who’ve pioneered many causes, first to achieve milestones, but more importantly, women who’ve taken on any challenge with their heads and shoulders held high, committed to taking on any obstacle that comes their way. They’re not fancy women or considered “high maintenance”, but grass-roots individuals who, through their love of family and spiritual belief, have built foundations that are strong and will far exceed their physical being.
I am writing this to invite you to celebrate those who have inspired you, supported you, and loved you. Heroes are not on social media platforms but sitting right across the room.
Honour your champions!
