As the Head of Talent at Victrex, you'll lead our efforts to identify, attract, develop and retain the best talent in the industry. You'll collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement talent strategies that align with our business goals and values. Your expertise will be crucial in building a high-performing workforce that drives our success.
To lead the strategic and operational delivery of the Talent agenda across Victrex, with recruitment, inclusion, and learning & development working as one cohesive function.
This role is pivotal in shaping a high-performance, inclusive culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent aligned with the company’s strategy and values to ensure Victrex is competitively positioned. Continue the work to lead the way helping the Company embrace, DEI, AI and digital solutions.
Principal Accountabilities:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and deliver a forward-looking talent acquisition strategy to meet evolving business needs.
- Work with Strategic HR Business Partners (SBPs) to forecast workforce requirements and build robust talent pipelines.
- Oversee employer value proposition to position Victrex as an attractive employer, particularly in STEM and manufacturing sectors.
Learning & Development
- Lead the design and delivery of learning strategies that build future-ready capabilities. Acting as the corporate conscience for setting competence standards and assessments, working with SBPs to provide solutions for closing capability gaps
- Oversee digital learning platforms and ensure alignment with business priorities (e.g. Sales Academy, LMS upgrades).
- Embed a culture of continuous self-led learning and leadership development through provision of structured self-development programmes.
Training
- Deliver required training and competency standards for Operations (manufacturing and production) through governance of technical framework assessments to meet required safety, quality and on-the-job training requirements.
Inclusion & Diversity
- Champion the DEI agenda, ensuring inclusive hiring practices and equitable development opportunities.
- Coordinate the Strategic Inclusion Group (SIG) and oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to embed inclusion into the employee lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on DEI metrics, ensuring accountability and transparency, preparing formal papers for the Corporate Governance Committee (CRC) of the Victrex Main Board.
Talent Management & Succession Planning
- Lead the annual Organisational Capability Review (OCR) and ensure progress of quarterly talent reviews.
- Identify and develop high-potential talent, with a focus on underrepresented groups.
- Ensure succession plans are in place for critical roles, including contingency planning.
Leadership & Team Management
- Build and lead a high-performing Talent team, integrating previously separate Learning & Inclusion and Recruitment functions.
- Foster collaboration across HR Centres of Expertise and Business Partnering to deliver seamless talent solutions.
As member of HR Leadership Team contribute to People Strategy and HR Plan.
You will need to be an HR Qualification (CIPD or Equivalent) with some international HR experience preferred. Myers Briggs MBTI Practitioner is strongly preferred.
