About the Role
As a Senior NPI Engineer, your role will be to design, develop, and deliver sustainable manufacturing processes for new medical devices and components, within our Trauma team. You’ll lead projects through every stage, from feasibility through to full-scale production, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI): Define and manage the NPI process, delivering innovative products into sustainable, full-scale manufacture.
- Design for Manufacture (DFM): Capture stakeholder requirements to ensure cost, quality, and lead-time targets are met.
- Risk Management: Implement and manage risk assessments and compliance standards, including ISO14971.
- Process Validation: Oversee the validation of new manufacturing processes, including URS/DQ/IQ/OQ protocols.
- Procedures: Review and improve key procedures to ensure continuous improvement across manufacturing development.
- Support BAU: Provide technical support for established manufacturing processes after product launch.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide NPI and Manufacturing Engineer team members to achieve project deliverables, both directly and via matrix management across multiple sites.
- Working with Suppliers: Ensure high quality standards are maintained with key suppliers, reviewing manufacturing documents to ensure alignment with internal validation requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- A proven track record in introducing new medical devices, components, or validated cleanroom processes into full-scale manufacturing.
- Extensive technical project and team management experience.
- Expertise in process design, validation, and risk management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
