Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to work as a part of a small maintenance team at our Stonehouse site, supporting the site's electronic equipment, control systems and instrumentation within the manufacturing environment. The Stonehouse site manufactures technical yarns for use in the aerospace, automotive, filtration and process belt industries. This involves melting and extruding polymer, passing over hot rotating rolls and winding the resultant yarn on a package in a form that meets the customer’s needs.
About the role
The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of our operations. Your primary responsibility would be to proactively address maintenance, both preventive and corrective, to uphold our safety and quality standards and minimize unplanned equipment downtime, whilst ensuring timely and accurate communication is given to all stakeholders
The role will include conducting or supporting root cause analysis for unplanned outages and electrical faults, and identifying and implementing actions to prevent their recurrence wherever practical. You will also assist in the development and updating of maintenance procedures and documentation related to plant, assets, and equipment as well as maintaining relevant management systems by accurately and promptly inputting data.
The role will also involve supporting the implementation and commissioning of plant improvement projects, ensuring their safe and efficient execution, and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities within your roles scope.
Your Experience
We are looking for someone, who has previously worked within the manufacturing industry, and has a background in electrical or instruments disciplines
Our ideal candidate would have a excellent standard and understanding of safety and experience working with quality systems. They would also have good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Knowledge of PLCs, Inverters, Instrument communication (networking) would be an advantage.
It is essential that you have a HNC, or equivalent qualification or experience, within a relevant discipline.
