We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing IT team and play a pivotal role in designing, building and optimising the data platforms that power decision-making across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working with modern cloud technologies and collaborating with stakeholders to turn business requirements into scalable data solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, high-performing data solutions that support analytics, reporting and AI-driven insights. Working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Power BI Developers and business stakeholders, you'll:
Design and develop data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure and modern data engineering tools.
Manage data throughout its lifecycle, from ingestion through to consumption, using a medallion architecture approach.
Build and optimise data models, transformations and integrations using SQL, PySpark and related technologies.
Monitor, maintain and improve the performance, reliability and scalability of data platforms.
Support CI/CD deployment practices, source control and code versioning.
Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring trusted and accurate business information.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Victrex's enterprise data and analytics capabilities.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from individuals who combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset.
You'll ideally have experience with:
Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services
Data warehousing and modern cloud data platforms
SQL Server, Azure SQL and advanced T-SQL development
Data modelling and ETL/ELT processes
Power BI and analytics environments
Python, PySpark, SparkSQL or DBT
CI/CD and source control practices
Agile delivery methodologies
Experience working within manufacturing, supply chain or ERP-driven environments would be advantageous.
