Sales Account Manager
We are seeking a Sales Account Manager to act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of direct buying customers, primarily characterized as Service or Partner accounts. The focus for this role will be Semiconductor and Semiconductor Equipment, Aerospace & Defence, and Data Centers.
You will be responsible for growing revenue and profitability while delivering an excellent customer experience aligned to defined service levels. Whilst the role is primarily focusing on account management there will be some business development activities within your responsibilities, providing the opportunity to also spend time developing new opportunities with customers.
Working closely with internal cross‑functional teams, you will help industrialize new production, introduce new products, and identify opportunities to grow market share.
Key Responsibilities
Own and grow revenue and profitability for a portfolio of direct buying customer accounts
Build strong, long-term customer relationships as the main commercial point of contact
Deliver timely, high-quality account support aligned to customer characterization and revenue thresholds
Identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience and coordinate solutions with internal teams
Manage incoming leads from existing or new OEM/Tier1/Specifier accounts and providing advanced technical and regulatory support to convert leads into qualified opportunities.
Lead business development opportunities to introduce new products, translating applications, and scaling production
Manage price quotations and negotiations within agreed authority levels to maximize margin
Forecast and track account KPIs including revenue, margin, ASP, and competitive position
Monitor customer usage versus competitive products to identify share‑gain opportunities
Maintain accurate CRM records, including meeting reports, pipeline activity, and account plans
Key Metrics
Typical account revenue: $500k–$1M annually
KPIs include customer satisfaction, cost to serve, margin, ASP, and competitive (re)gain
Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Sales Account Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager or similar commercial role
Plastics background/industry experience
Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline and account activity
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a global, matrix organization
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, or related field (or equivalent experience) plus we would prefer the successful candidate to be a member of a recognized commercial or sales institute.
