About the Role
We are looking for a Power BI Developer on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our team and drive visualisation excellence across the business. In this role, you will deliver enhanced reporting, supporting reporting subject matter experts in identifying opportunities to empower better business decision making. You’ll provide technical expertise within a multi-disciplinary team, using Microsoft tools to deliver reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop data models to support business intelligence needs.
- Create, update, and support databases and reports with key metrics to guide strategic decisions.
- Ensure data integrity through maintenance of system integrations, transformation, and communication protocols.
- Combine data from multiple sources, including data lakes, and apply appropriate cleansing techniques.
- Develop and promote visualisation standards and high-quality design across the organisation.
- Provide technical leadership to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with partners and business owners to identify requirements, define success criteria, and deliver visualisation solutions.
- Support existing business systems and BI tools via the Service Desk where appropriate.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in data visualisation and self-serve data solutions aligned to business requirements.
- Expertise in designing intuitive, well-structured Power BI reports using best practices.
- Strong technical leadership skills to deliver innovative solutions.
- Broad knowledge of enterprise IT solutions and data models within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Proficiency in:
- SQL development (SQL Server Management Studio)
- Power BI report development and DAX queries
- Data modelling techniques (Star Schema, Conceptual, Logical)
- Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft ERP systems and data (including D365).
- Experience working in structured project environments (AGILE, Kanban, PRINCE2).
Functional Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to address data anomalies.
- Strong understanding of BI tools and analytical methods.
- Skilled in SQL Server database technologies and T-SQL scripting.
- Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems.
Qualifications
- Desirable:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate with Power BI
