Plant Manager - Rotherham

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader ready to take on a pivotal role in a world-class, highly regulated environment? Victrex is seeking a Plant Manager to lead and manage all aspects of production at our Rotherham facility
You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards in safety, health, environment (SHE), process safety, quality, production output, inventory accuracy, cost control, and people management. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in a complex, innovative manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards (including COMAH).
- Develop and implement annual objectives and plans aligned with the manufacturing strategy.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage plant budgets in line with business plans.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people management.
- Oversee production planning and resource optimisation to meet targets and deadlines.
- Support customer complaint resolution and implement improvement solutions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure effective risk management for hazards within the business area.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to embed integrated ways of working and achieve company objectives.
About You
- Significant, proven experience managing manufacturing or plant operations in a highly regulated environment.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety, SHE management, process engineering, maintenance, and finance.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in fast-paced, demanding environments with strong prioritisation skills.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline (essential).
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
Key Metrics
- Manage a site with expenditure of £30million and a team of 70 people.
- Oversee complex chemical and material processing operations in a Top Tier COMAH environment.
- Responsible for plant capacity improvements by driving Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
