Project Engineer

Our Capital Programme is at the heart of Victrex’s success, driving multi-million-pound investments in cutting-edge production plants, building projects, and site upgrades. We’re looking for a Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering these high-impact projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Project Management: Own and deliver projects under £1m with minimal senior intervention.
Engineering Design: Manage detailed design to meet project plans; ensure efficient use of resources and effective design reviews. Assist with Front End Engineering Design and cost estimation for project sanction packages.
Constructability Reviews: Chair layout and constructability sessions with auditable team involvement.
Procurement: Conduct technical reviews of vendor quotations and provide clear recommendations.
Construction Oversight: Ensure safe, effective construction; act as Victrex contact for contractors; maintain zero reportable incidents.
Planning & Expediting: Drive EPC programme, identify slippages, and implement corrective actions for timely completion.
Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs; prevent overruns and keep orders within budget.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, SHE, Technology, Commercial, and Finance teams across Hillhouse, Rotherham, and Seal Sands sites.
Significant Role Metrics:
- Value of capital expenditure responsible for per year: Up to £5m
- Direct reports: None
- Indirect reports (project team members and contractors): Up to 20
- Purchasing Authority: £5k
Experience:

Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical/Control/Instrument(ECI) engineering with professional membership of an Engineering Institution (Essential)
- Chartered Engineer (Desirable)
