Machinist

Role Title: Machinist – Parts – GPF
Location: Bristol
Reports to: Plant Manager – Parts
Role Purpose: Responsible for producing machined parts through a variety of appropriate equipment and supplies.
Principal Accountabilities:
(Areas such as planning, organising, directing, innovating, budgeting, staffing etc. as well as meeting specific objectives within the job purpose.)
• Plans and delivers machining through work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Programs machinery, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
• Performs all machine shop operations including setup, tools, fixtures and work pieces
• Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results in material requirements planning software
• Collaborates with engineering and quality staff to improve machining and inspection operations.
Experience:
(Experience normally associated with successful performance of role, ie type of experience rather than length of time.)
• Demonstratable experience with CNC setup, and programming parts in CAM
• Demonstratable experience with various shop equipment and machines including water jet, milling, drilling, de-burring etc.
Functional Skills:
High school diploma or technical school certificate is essential.
