We are looking for a Global Environmental Lead to be the global subject matter expert for environmental management, compliance and permitting.

About the Role 

As Global Environmental Lead you will manage all aspects of the global environmental compliance and permitting improvement programmes. Providing a single point of contact for all external environmental reporting / permitting compliance across Victrex, ensuring all reporting requirements are accurate, meet legal requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.

Reporting to the Global SHE Leader, you will manage environmental compliance and permitting projects globally and provide guidance and advice to the local site management teams. You will be required to liaise with external regulators and provide updates and reports as required.

The Global Environmental Lead will identify environmental compliance and permitting training needs and develop and deliver appropriate in-house training and/or source external courses to meet these needs. As well as assisting in the development of the global Victrex integrated SHE management system, ensuring standards, procedures and guidance deliver legislative compliance and are aligned to recognised best practice.

You will be required to coach and mentor site leadership teams to ensure they understand their environmental compliance, environmental permitting and environmental management system responsibilities. There will be an expectation that you keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation, permitting requirements and best practice, ensuring this is translated into the Victrex integrated SHE management system and effectively communicated across the business.

Your Experience 

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and investigative skills and experience including root cause analysis, as well as project planning skills with experience of managing improvement projects. You will be effective in influencing and  negotiating, collaborative relationship building and communicating across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Our successful candidate will have experience of leading environmental compliance and permitting improvement projects globally within high hazard industries. You will have  an in depth understanding of current and impending environmental/permitting legislation, BAT/BREF, CCA, codes of practice and standards etc. along with an understanding of the legal requirements associated with operating COMAH regulated and environmental permitted sites.

A relevant environmental related qualification or equivalent experience is essential for this role. Membership of a relevant professional body (PIEMA) would be expected. We would anticipate our successful candidate having previous experience within an environmental management role.
